BEHAVIOR: This school year we will continue using our PBIS system. (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports).
INSTRUCTION: Students may enter the school at 8:00 a.m. when the bell rings. Parents are not allowed to drop children off in front of the school before the carpool line begins unless they are participating in the extended day program. If they are not eating breakfast, they should report directly to their classrooms to begin the morning’s assignments. Instruction begins promptly at 8:30, and continues until dismissal at 3:25.
MONEY: Any money sent to school should be in an envelope with your child’s name, teacher’s name, grade, amount, and purpose. (lunch, field trip, book order)
HOMEWORK: Homework is given Monday–Thursday. It should be completed and returned everyday. The only homework for Friday is to sign and return conducts and data binders. Your child will bring a green homework folder home each day. Homework that is forgotten, incomplete, or not done will be made up during recess time, so please make sure your child completes his or her homework each night. Homework assignments may also be collected as part of their weekly grade at times.
ATTENDANCE: Attendance is extremely important. What we do in class involves active participation, and it is essential that your child attends each day. However, I do realize that illness, family emergencies, and doctor’s appointments do occur. Please send a note in these circumstances.
DISMISSAL: Please be reminded that for safety reasons, we can only dismiss your child when they have been called through the office. Check-outs cannot be made after 2:30. Also, if your child is to go home a different way than usual, we MUST receive a parent note stating the change.
